Neuropathy is caused by damage to a peripheral nerve or nerves. Symptoms include numbing, burning/tingling, shooting, stabbing, and/or sharp. These symptoms could be sudden or lingering. Causes include trauma, inflammation, metabolic diseases, alcohol, infection, tumors, toxins, and neurologic diseases.

Treatments for neuropathy include stellate ganglion/sympathetic blocks, lumbar sympathetic blocks and spinal cord stimulation.
